Cuchara Mountain Park is hiring friendly, safety-focused individuals for the role of Ski & Snowboard Rental Technician. This is a dynamic, fast-paced winter seasonal job where you'll be the expert ensuring every guest is fitted safely and comfortably with the right equipment for a perfect day on the mountain. Expert Equipment Fitting (Primary Focus):
Greet and assist guests through the entire rental process efficiently and cheerfully.
Determine the correct size and type of ski and snowboard equipment based on guest ability, height, weight, and preferences.
Provide expert ski boot fitting and snowboard boot fitting to ensure comfort and safety.
Accurately set and test ski bindings according to industry standards and release value charts (training provided).
Customer Service & Sales:
Maintain an enthusiastic and professional demeanor, answering guest questions about the equipment and general resort information.
Accurately process rental paperwork, including liability waivers and Point of Sale (POS) transactions.
Promote and educate guests on complementary items such as helmets, insurance, and equipment upgrades.
Maintenance & Inventory:
Perform basic snowboard waxing and tuning (edge sharpening, minor base repair) on rental equipment.
Clean, disinfect, and organize returned equipment for the next day's use.
Maintain a clean and organized Rental Shop, ensuring all inventory is tracked correctly.
Identify and tag damaged equipment for repair or removal.
Excellent Customer Service Skills and a positive, helpful attitude.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and all holiday periods.
Basic computer skills for processing rental transactions.
Ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive lifting up to 40 lbs, and handle a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to safety and ability to follow detailed, technical instructions (e.g., binding settings).
Previous experience in a retail, rental, or mechanic role.
Familiarity with ski/snowboard equipment and the DIN setting process.
Experience with Ski Boot Fitting is a major asset.
